Pass-Thrus
What is a Pass Thru Cabinet?
Pass-Thru cabinets are often installed directly into the cleanroom’s walls. Two sides of the cabinet have doors. When they are opened one door at a time, this allows objects to be passed through into or out of the cleanroom while controlling the risk of new contamination. In addition to wall pass-thru cabinets, Technical Air Products also offers cart pass-thru cabinets.
What are the benefits of Pass-Thru Cabinets?
Every worker exit or entrance introduces a risk of new contamination from the outside, but pass-thru cabinets offer an affordable way to transfer allowed materials in and out of a cleanroom. Pass-thru cabinets limit the frequency at which people need to enter or exit the cleanroom, making it easier for the cleanroom to maintain its cleanliness standards.
Because materials can enter a room without a person entering, this saves time as well. This can be a significant benefit. Workers do not need to spend time gowning or showering to bring in or remove objects from the cleanroom.
Pass-thru cabinets also make it possible to store materials outside of the cleanroom, eliminating the need for larger cleanroom space. This lowers acquisition and operational costs considerably, making modular cleanrooms a viable option for many applications.
Technical Air Products manufactures standard wall pass-thru cabinets in 18”x18”x18”, 24”x24”x24” and 36”x36”x36” sizes. We can also offer custom sizes and options.
